Centering Consciousness
Where attention is placed, there experience lies.
Which runs counter to common sense. We think feelings are the result of what's going on in and around us. What's going on in the world. In our family. With our finances. With our body.
And then we justify accordingly. I'm sad because. I'm worried because. I'm ashamed because.
As an early workbook lesson of A Course in Miracles puts it, "I am never upset for the reason I think."
And yet we spend enormous energy addressing the becauses.
Might there be a better way?
Not that we stop taking action. The question is from where the action flows. The me, scrambling to fix its world? Or a mind at rest ... consciousness centered in joy?
One makes more me, and all the drama a me requires. The other is love, extending.
